New Video, Pictures and Details: Rob Visits Kids at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (Aug 16th)

On Friday, Aug. 16, Robert Pattinson, actor and star of mega-hit movies “The Twilight Saga” and “Water for Elephants” dropped by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to spread cheer and visit with patients.

Teens from across the hospital—including the Acute Rehabilitation Center, the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases and The Heart Institute—gathered in the hospital’s Teen Lounge for a surprise guest. When Pattinson arrived, one young girl giggled and cried in awe. But the down-to-earth actor quickly settled the room and jumped into arts and crafts, decorating picture frames alongside patients. Pattinson laughed at his own creation—a pink frame with hearts sketched in—and tried unsuccessfully to convince the room of his “terrible” artistic skills.

The star graciously posed for endless photographs and signed every patient’s picture frame before heading off to visit two cystic fibrosis patients and huge Twilight fans who were unable to leave their rooms.

“We couldn’t help laughing and smiling when one of the patients was so starstruck she that couldn’t speak. You could tell it meant the world to her—she was tearing up and smiling ear to ear as we were leaving,” said Lyndsay Hutchison, senior public information officer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “The other little girl teased him relentlessly and begged him to do an American accent. They were instant friends.”

“Robert was so nervous about meeting the kids—he didn’t want to let them down—which is a testament to how humble he is. He was incredibly gracious and kind. He will probably never fully understand what a huge lift he gave to these kids today, and how it will positively impact them over the long term,” shared Child Life specialist, Ana Vega.

Pattinson was able to visit the hospital because an upcoming movie, “Maps to the Stars,” which Pattinson is currently filming in Los Angeles will feature a short scene (not featuring Pattinson) in front of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Keep an eye out for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles when the film hits theaters!

It was in LA at a hospital
He had like people with him I guess like assistants and staff but otherwise it was just him
He didn't have any cameras with him which made me love him even more because he didn't do this for the media
He was visiting the patients there :) He is so sweet
Meeting Robert was literally a dream come true! I was so ridiculously shy but he was kind of shy too! His smile made my heart swell
We shared a few words but we were both shy. I took up most of the time trying not to fan girl
I honestly cried when he left. I didn't want him to see my cry so I held in it but I mean as soon as he left the tears streamed down my face
I am stuck in this hospital room but the woman told me he met another fan and her heart rate went up. He was scared for her.
e don't know if he went to any other floors but he visited two people in isolation (including me) and went to a patient lounge
But what warmed my heart a lot was the fact that Rob came into the room without looking at me as something contagious. He hugged me!

Rob Helps a Fan's Wish Come True + New/Old Pictures

The encounter happened back in 2011 during the 'Breaking Dawn: Part 1' French promo. The French association Rob took a part in is called Dreams: The charity associaion that makes sick kids' dreams come true. Rob helped another fan's wsih come true back in Australia that same year, you can read about it HERE.

He's the star of the 'Twilight' saga and the heartthrob of every teenage girl. Thanks to the organization, Julie was able to meet Robert Pattinson in the flesh! This young 15 years old girl had the opportunity of spending a few minutes with the actor last October (on the 24th), right before his appearence on the news show of TF1. As moved as the young girl, Robert played along easily to a game of Q&A.

The day before, Julie was able to attend exclusively a 'Breaking Dawn: Part 1' fan event in a famous Parisian theater. It was an exceptional moment only a few fans were lucky to attend; during which Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene answered the audience's questions. Then came a projection of a few scenes of the movie.

Julie - enchanted and over the moon - left pleased with stars in her eyes and with the firm intention of becoming one day an actress.

Sweet Story About How Rob Saved The Alligator From His Vanity Fair Photoshoot

Remember the alligator on the cover of Vanity Fair with Rob? Here is the story of how Rob helped free Hollywood.

“Just thought I would share the rest of the story with you all… Well, we all know this picture right? I was visiting Insta-gator in Louisiana last weekend with some fellow twilighters and happened to spot it on the wall. I raced over to it and, although the pic doesn’t show it clearly, the paper above the pic says that the alligator, appropriately named, Hollywood, lives at the ranch and that if you ask the tour guide, you can meet him!!!! I immediately went into stealth mode knocking people over trying to find the guide because anything that touched Rob, I MUST TOUCH! Anyway, finally found the guide, who we had nicknamed Marshmallow Man, because he fed the gators marshmallows and because he was hot, and he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about, all braun, no brains, I guess. He told us to go ask the short, red-headed guy. So I did, and do you know what he told me? He said, “Hollywood’s not here anymore. Rob paid to have him released back into the wild. It’s the only time we’ve ever done that.” Needless to say, tears started to form, not because I didn’t get to meet the gator, but because our Rob is that sweet! I cried and love him even more if that’s possible! And that my friends, is the rest of the story.”

Rob's Signed Guitar Auctioned Today to Benefit The Dio Cancer Fund

As we posted a few weeks ago, a signed guitar from Rob was auctioned today to to benefit he Dio Cancer Fund established in memory of hard rock singer Ronnie James Dio. The winning bid was $1,280 and here are some pictures of the guitar

Pattinson, who played Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, was on TIME magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People in the World. As a musician, he plays the guitar and sang "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign"; both songs were featured on the soundtrack for Twilight (Summit Entertainment, 2008).

Rob's Autographed Guitar To Be Auctioned For Dio Cancer Fun

More than 100 guitars bearing the signatures of rock, pop and country stars including Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Tom Morello, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney will be auctioned Dec. 1 to benefit the Dio Cancer Fund established in memory of hard rock singer Ronnie James Dio.

The instruments will be previewed Nov. 19 at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, where they will be auctioned two weeks later.

Other artists who have signed donated guitars include members of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Metallica and the Alice Cooper Band. The guitar signed by Van Halen is a prototype electric made for him. The auction also includes a custom hand-carved Ronnie James Dio memorial guitar made by DBZ Guitars and an acoustic-electric guitar signed by “Twilight” film series star Robert Pattinson.

The preview will run from 3 to 5 p.m. and will be attended by Dio’s widow, Wendy Dio, and Gloria Butler, chairman of the Dio Cancer Fund, which was created after the 2010 death from cancer of Dio, the onetime lead singer of Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio. Some musicians who donated instruments also are expected to be on hand.
