LOS ANGELES (January 14, 2013) - The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the final chapter of The Twilight Saga, will be released on Blu-ray Disc (plus Digital Copy and Ultraviolet), 2-disc DVD (plus Digital Copy and Ultraviolet), Video On Demand and Digital Download on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE company. Both the Blu-ray Disc and 2-disc DVD will feature hours of extensive bonus materials. The weekend street date allows for midnight events at retailers nationwide where eager fans will be lining up in anticipation of the finale's home entertainment release.

With the release of Breaking Dawn - Part 2, which has taken in an incredible $290 million in domestic box office so far, The Twilight Saga will become the top-selling home entertainment franchise since 2009, having already sold over 50 million DVD and Blu-ray copies to date. Driven by an unbelievably enthusiastic and loyal fan base, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series has sold over 116 million copies worldwide while the global box office for the complete film series stands at over $3.3 billion, with Part 2 achieving the highest grosses of all with $821.8 million. The Blu-ray and 2-disc DVD will include hours of bonus materials that are sure to satisfy even the most dedicated fans. It was said in a previous post about the 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' DVD, that a 7 minutes bonus of 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' would be attached to it.

Amazon France released info that an extended version of 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' will come out on February 8th. It's a limited version only in French for now. There will be hopefully a similar version for the US too. (Info about the US version posted at the top of the post)

The DVD includes 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' with 7 new scenes.

 - A new version of the opening scene with the Volturi.
- Extended scene of Edward 's flashback as a young vampire.
- New scene from the honeymoon.

Unfolding in a single cataclysmic day, the story follows Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson, Water For Elephants, The Twilight Saga) - a 28-year old financial whiz kid and billionaire asset manager - as he heads out in his tricked-out stretch limo to get a haircut from his father's old barber, while remotely wagering his company's massive fortune on a bet against the Chinese Yuan. Packer's luxe trip across the city quickly becomes dizzyingly hellish as he encounters explosive city riots, a parade of provocative visitors, and is thrust into a myriad of intimate encounters. Having started the day with everything, believing he is the future, Packer's perfectly ordered, doubt-free world is about to implode.

Joining Pattinson in the all-star international cast are Academy Award®-winner Juliette Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient, Dan in Real Life), Academy Award®-nominees Paul Giamatti (The Ides of March, Sideways, "John Adams") and Samantha Morton (The Messenger, In America), Sarah Gadon (A Dangerous Method), Cesar-winner Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Kevin Durand (Real Steel), and Jay Baruchel (The Trotsky).

The creative team includes many of Cronenberg's long-time collaborators, including Director of Photography Peter Suschitzky (A History of Violence), Production Designer Arv Greywal (Lars and the Real Girl), Costume Designer Denise Cronenberg (Eastern Promises), and Composer Howard Shore (The Lord of The Rings trilogy), who wrote original music for COSMOPOLIS in collaboration with Metric and K'Naan. Online retailer Amazon.com has begun taking orders for Cosmopolis on Blu-ray and DVD with a release date of January 1, 2013. New Year's Day falls on a Tuesday, the traditional release date for new home video titles, so please don't think the Cosmopolis release date is a typo.
